As was promised, the Canucks named their captain at their home opener tonight against the LA Kings.

As expected, the 14th captain in Canucks history, the man chosen to fill Henrik Sedin's skates is...Bo Horvat. Taken 9th overall by Vancouver in the 2013 draft, Horvat has produced 222 points in 379 NHL games and was considered the easy favorite for the job. Alexander Edler, Chris Tanev, and Brandon Sutter will continue to serve as alternate captains.

The elaborate ceremony had Horvat come out with an A, as part of the 'leadership group.' Afterwards, Orland Kurtenbach (the Canucks very first captain) and Henrik Sedin (the last) were joined by Horvat who pulled off the jersey with the A, and donned one with the C presented by the two Canucks legends.
