After seven years with the Philadelphia Flyers, Wayne Simmonds returned to Wells Fargo Arena Wednesday night as a member of the New Jersey Devils. The Flyers made sure to pay tribute to the hard-nosed forward, with an excellent, heartfelt video and a standing ovation. You can watch the full video below.
Earlier in the night, Simmonds told members of the media he thought he did all he could to earn an extension from the Flyers, but it was not to be as he was traded to Nashville at the trade deadline, and then signed with New Jersey in the offseason.
