Simmonds says he deserved better from the Flyers
The New Jersey Devils are in Philadelphia Wednesday night to take on the Flyers, which means Wayne Simmonds is back at his old stomping grounds. Simmonds met with media prior to the start of the game, and didn't hold back about not being offered an extension by the Flyers after playing with the team for seven years.
"I put so much time and sweat and tears into this organization. I thought I did everything I could possibly do to at least get a bit of an extension," said the 31-year-old
Simmonds was shipping to Nashville at the trade deadline last season. He then signed a one-year, $5 million contract with New Jersey as an unrestricted free agent over the offseason.
