Coming off their fourth straight loss to open the 2021-22 season, the Montreal Canadiens held a practice at their facility in Brossard, Quebec.

The team was doing battle drills early on in their practice on Wednesday. Forward Joel Armia and defenceman Alexander Romanov were paired up, and things got a bit intense.

Via a video he posted on Twitter, TSN reporter John Lu said, "#Habs doing battle drills early in practice because they haven't been getting to the net and haven't been battling. Armia got testy with Romanov after getting a stick in the mouth at the start of the drill."

It's safe to say that the entire team is tired of losing, and that this kind of intensity is needed each and every night going forward. It still is very early in the 2021-22 season, as Montreal still has 78 games to go, but a quick turnaround is needed.

The Canadiens will look to win their first game of the season when they welcome Jesperi Kotkaniemi and the Carolina Hurricanes to the Bell Centre on Thursday night. Puck drop is set for 7pm ET on TSN2 and RDS.
