Matt Calvert shares touching tribute to his mom, who recently passed away
First off, happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful moms around the world. Without your love, nurturing and guidance, a lot of us would truly be lost. What you do is no small feat and one single day is certainly not enough to properly thank you for all that you do.
Unfortunately, there are many who do not have the luxury of visiting mom today to give her a big bear hug and shower her with gifts. Instead, some only have memories to share of their dearly departed mothers. Count Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Calvert among them.
Calvert lost his mother last month after she succumbed to her battle with cancer. In what is obviously an otherwise somber day for the Calvert family, Matt took to Twitter to share a touching tribute to his mother, Alice, for Mother's Day, which can be seen below:
It's evident that there was a lot of love in the Calvert home growing up and Matt really paints a picture of the kind of woman his mother was.
If you have the ability, please do everything in your power to make your mom feel special today. If you have the luxury, give her a real tight squeeze because unfortunately, our moms cannot stick around forever. ❤
