Oilers' forward Markus Granlund headed to KHL

As sourced from Russian outlet Championat, Oilers depth forward Markus Granlund is expected to play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) following the expiration of his contract at the end of the 19-20 season.

The 27-year-old center is expected to sign with the KHL's Salavat Yulaev Ufa, based out of the Republic of Bashkortostan, a federal subject of the Russian Federation.

Granlund was selected 45th overall, in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames. He joined the Edmonton Oilers organization after signing a one-year, $1.3 million contract in July of 2019.

Through 335 NHL games, Granlund has 101 points (58G, 43A.)
