Boston Bruins re-sign goaltender Jaroslav Halak

As announced on Friday by Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney, the organization has re-signed goaltender Jaroslav Halak.

The 34-year-old inked a one-year deal, worth $2.25 million to serve in net for Boston, likely in tandem with Tuukka Rask, who still has a season remaining on his contract.

Through 31 games with Boston during the 2019-20 season, Halak generated an 18-6-6 record . He recorded three shutouts, while holding a 2.39 goals against average(GAA) and .919 save percentage (6th in the NHL.)

Since being drafted by Montreal in 2003, Halak has played in 520 regular season games, with 272-167-58 career record. He holds a 2.48 goals against average, .916 save percentage and 50 shutouts through 14 seasons. During his lengthy NHL career, the Slovakia-native has served in net for Boston, New York, Washington, St. Louis and Montreal.
