Per Russian reporter Igor Eronko, forward Anton Slepyshev has signed a two-year extension with CSKA of the KHL.

Slepyshev, 25, was rumoured to possibly be headed back across the pond to join his former team, the Edmonton Oilers. It has been reported recently that the Oilers had been in discussions with the Russian forward, and was then reported and confirmed by general manager Ken Holland that the team did make him an offer. It appears the offer was not enticing enough however, as he has chosen to remain in the KHL.

Slepyshev was a third-round pick by the Oilers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play a total of 102 regular season games for the club, putting up 10 goals and 13 assists. He also suited up for 12 playoff games during the 2016-17 season, scoring three goals. He's coming off of his best professional season to date, with 18 goals and 27 assists in 54 games for CSKA.
