The Montreal Canadiens have made the decision to place forward and Stanley Cup winner Cedric Paquette on the waiver wire. If no one picks him up, he'll be sent to the AHL's Laval Rocket.

Paquette has played in 24 games with the Habs this season, collecting two assists and 25 penalty minutes. He's also a minus-6.

Paquette has his name on the Stanley Cup as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020. In December of the same year, he was traded to the Ottawa Senators, along with Braydon Coburn and a second round pick in 2022, in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Anders Nilsson, who will both never play in the NHL again due to injuries. In less than three months' time, he was flipped to the Carolina Hurricanes by the Sens, along with Alex Galchenyuk, in exchange for Ryan Dzingel. He signed with Montreal as a free agent in the offseason.

Speaking of Dzingel, he was placed on waivers by the San Jose Sharks on Friday. He cleared on Saturday.
