Anaheim GM Pat Verbeek indicates he open for business with pending free agents
In late February, Anaheim Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek told Pierre LeBrun that he's trying to re-sign a trio of pending free agents, Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson and Rickard Rakell, and that if he's not able to re-sign them, he'll look at trading them.
Fast forward eight days and it appears that Verbeek may be leaning towards moving those players.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Verbeek has informed teams that he is willing to test the market on his pending free agents, but it's not a guarantee that he will move any of them.
The NHL's trade deadline is fast-approaching with only thirteen days remaining for general managers to make additions to their roster with the hopes of making a deep playoff run, or subtractions while recouping draft picks and prospects.
With the Ducks sitting in fifth position in the Pacific division and playing pretty inconsistent hockey of late, it may be wise for Verbeek to move on from Lindholm, Manson and Rakell while he can.
