27-year-old Dallas Ehrhardt has been suspended by the Elite Ice Hockey League for two games for abuse of an official. Ehrhardt, who is from Calgary, Alberta plays for the Manchester Storm of the EIHL.

In a game against the Conventry Blaze, Ehrhardt was getting a penalty for hooking after attempting to stop an opponent from getting a breakaway. When the play had been stopped, Ehrhardt, seemingly frustrated with the penalty, wound up and took a fairly hard shot with the puck in the direction of the referee who had called the infraction.

According to the EIHL, "the area and direction in which Ehrhardt shot the puck is not considered normal" and a player cannot, at any time, shoot a puck at or in the vicinity of an official in disgust. According to the league, it falls under its definition of a "threatening gesture" under their Abuse of Officials rules.

Ehrhardt could have been suspended for a maximum of three games under the EIHL's rules, but the league decided on two. You can see the official ruling, which contains the incident, below. While the incident happened on October 10th, the suspension was just announced today.
