Former NHLer Landon Ferraro is taking his game to Germany. After being let go from his professional tryout with the Vancouver Canucks during training camp in September, the 28-year-old has signed with Eisbären Berlin (Berlin Polar Bears) of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest level of play in professional German ice hockey.

Ferraro, the son of the longtime NHL veteran and current TSN and NBCSN Analyst Ray Ferraro, was selected in the 2nd round (32nd overall) of the 2009 entry draft by Detroit. Since that time, he has spent the vast majority of his playing career in the AHL, managing just 77 games in the big league. He has a total of 12 NHL points, including seven goals. The forward's best NHL season came in 2015-16 when he played 55 games for the Boston Bruins, scoring five goals and five assists. At the AHL level, he's played 387 games

"He fits well into the system, he brings a lot of experience from the AHL and the NHL. We look forward to it," says Eisbären Sporting Director and former NHLer Stéphane Richer. "Landon is a good two-way player who can score, too."

Ferraro is expected to arrive in Germany today (Friday).
