Leafs receive some upsetting news regarding top prospect Nick Robertson

The Toronto Maple Leafs have received some less than desirable news relating to top prospect Nick Robertson, who was injured during an AHL game against the Manitoba Moose on Sunday.

Per an update from the team's AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, Robertson suffered a fractured right fibula, the result of a hit behind the net and a subsequent awkward fall with his leg getting twisted up behind him.

Robertson will not require surgery to repair the damage, but he is expected to be sidelined for at least the next ten weeks, at which point he will be re-evaluated.

If Robertson didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all, as injuries have become commonplace for him during the early stages of his professional hockey career.

The 20-year-old is a relentless workhorse with an NHL-caliber shot, but there has to be some concern over how these repeated significant early season injuries will impact his overall development.
