Blueliner Anton Lindholm leaves the NHL

After five seasons in North America, defenceman Anton Lindholm is returning the Europe. The former 5th round pick of the Colorado Avalanche has signed a one-year deal with Dynamo Minsk of the KHL.

Lindholm, 26, has played a total of 66 games in the NHL throughout his career, recording five assists. He's also played for the Colorado Eagles and the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL over the last fews season. After four years with Colorado, Lindholm was traded alongside Nikita Zadorov to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Brandon Saad and Dennis Gilbert in 2020. He spent the entirety of last season in Rockford and was limited to just 16 games. He became an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Lindholm will have to show he can hang in the KHL in order to receive any potential NHL offers for the 2022-23 season.
