The Florida Panthers are no doubt counting down the days in anticipation of the start of the 2021-22 NHL regular season and a chance at redemption after falling to the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1st round of the playoffs, just a few short months ago.

The team was able to bolster their lineup over the offseason with the additions of forwards Sam Reinhart and Joe Thornton and are bringing back much of the same team from last season, but perhaps the most important addition to the lineup is the return of stud defenseman Aaron Ekblad.

Ekblad looks to be making strides in his recovery after suffering a devastating fracture in his left leg back in March, forcing the 25-year-old out of the lineup for the remainder of the regular season and the entire postseason after undergoing surgery to repair the fracture.

In case you haven't seen the video, you can find it below. Warning: it's pretty cringe-worthy.

The good news is that Ekblad has been spotted on the ice on multiple occasions this offseason and is reportedly looking no worse for the wear.

According to Panthers GM Bill Zito, Ekblad is expected to attend training camp and looks like he'll be good to go for their season opener when they play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
