Following a remarkable season in the USHL, Montreal Canadiens prospect Sean Farrell has been given the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year award by USA Hockey.

The Dave Tyler Award is given annually to the best American-born junior aged player. Among the players to win this award are Winnipeg's Kyle Connor, Dallas' Joe Pavelski, Calgary's Blake Coleman, and Montreal's Jeff Petry.

"Obviously, I was really honored, especially after a year like this where there were a lot of changes to where I'd be playing or not playing," said Farrell. "To not exactly know where I would be playing this year and then to have the success I've had as an individual and as a team, then adding on and getting this award really means a lot. It's very special that I get to share that with my family and all my teammates and coaches as well."

Farrell, 19, wasn't even supposed to return to the Chicago Steel in 2020. He was committed to Harvard University, but due to The Ivy League not running sports due to COVID-19, Farrell returned to the USHL. In 53 regular season games, the Hopkinton, Massachusetts native had 101 points (29 G, 72 A), 54 penalty minutes, and was a +31.
