Insider Hints at Big Trade Looming Between Metro Division Rivals

NHL insider Frank Seravalli is reporting that the Washington Capitals are potentially interested in Flyers center Scott Laughton.

The Philadelphia Flyers appear to be in selling mode as this year's NHL trade deadline approaches.

The team has already made a major deal with the Calgary Flames but it now seems as though Danny Briere is not done.

One player that has consistently been in trade rumors this season is veteran center Scott Laughton.

Laughton has 11 goals and 26 points through 54 games this season and is a perfect 3rd-line center for teams looking to build depth down the middle.

There will likely be many teams interested in his services as they prepare for the playoffs, but now a new one has entered the fray.

According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Washington Capitals are looking to improve at center and they are a good fit for Laughton both in terms of his on-ice abilities and his contract situation.

Naturally, Laughton is not the only player Danny Briere and the Flyers are looking to move though.

In fact, the organization is reportedly already looking to move on from Andrei Kuzmenko, whom they just acquired in the trade with Calgary.

While the Flyers only just acquired Kuzmenko, he is an unrestricted free agent this summer, so it would make sense for them to move him if they cannot come to terms with an extension.

Regardless, it certainly seems as though the Flyers will be busy over the next couple of weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on the team as we anticipate their next move.
