Colorado Avalanche lose star Jonathan Drouin for the first round

It was announced today that Colorado Avalanche star Jonathan Drouin will miss the entire first-round of the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Avalanche, who won the cup back in 2022 with a win over the Tampa Bay Lightning have managed to allow a resurgence for Jonathan Drouin, the third overall pick back in 2013.

Playing alongside good friend and former junior linemate on the Halifax Mooseheads (as well as former Hart trophy winner) Nathan Mackinnon, Drouin set career highs in points and assists.

This makes it especially crushing that he will miss the entire first round against the Winnipeg Jets, as the Colorado Avalanche seek a return to Lord Stanley.
