Referee knocked unconscious after collision with Haydn Fleury

A terrifying scene went down during today's Tampa Bay Lightning game, as a referee was knocked unconscious.

The referee was involved in a collision with defenseman Haydn Fleury, and was stretchered off the ice.







Haydn Fleury was drafted seventh overall, but never lived up to expectations. He has become a quality depth defenseman for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This collision was obviously accidental, but it does raise major questions around the safety of referees.

We will see if Haydn Fleury faces any supplemental discipline for this.

Hopefully Steve Kozari will be okay, best wishes to him and his family.
