Maple Leafs to sign top college free agent Jacob Quillan

New reports from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman have indicated that the Toronto Maple Leafs are signing a top college free agent out of Quinnipiac. The signing comes just days after Quinnipiac was eliminated from the NCAA tournament.

Tonight Elliotte Friedman took to X to announce news that will excite Toronto Maple Leafs fans. The Maple Leafs have signed Quinnipiac star Jacob Quillan to an entry-level contract.

There is word Toronto is signing Dartmouth, NS native Jacob Quillan out of Quinnipiac. Won a national championship last year, lots of competition for his services this year.

Jacob Quillan was a key part of Quinnipiac's success over the last two seasons. Last year he was a key complimentary piece to their championship team. This season he was a key contributor tallying 46 points in 39 games.

As of now, the plan for Jacon Quillan is likely to send him to the AHL for the rest of the season. If he finds success there he could challenge for a bottom-six role with the Maple Leafs next season.
