Auston Matthews has been putting on a goal scoring clinic in the past three years, and now veteran teammate
Ryan Reaves has a major prediction for No. 34.
This past weekend, Auston Matthews hit 60 goals for the second time in the past three seasons with a beauty against the division rival Buffalo Sabres, and the NHL world hasn't stopped buzzing about his brilliance.

It's not just the fans that can't get enough of Matthews goal scoring however, as veteran teammate
Ryan Reaves was asked about it in a recent interview, and he had nothing but praise for Matthews, with one major proclamation.
Obviously emotions are running high when that answer came, as no player has scored 80 since Brett Hull in the early 1990's, but given Matthews consistency when healthy over the past three years, there's no reason why he can't do it. Even in 2023-24, there's still a chance that Matthews can notch 70 goals, with nine games remaining on the team's schedule, and at 26-years of age with his prime now only beginning, there's truly no limit to the potential that No. 34 has in Toronto.
This season, Matthews has been without star teammate
Mitch Marner for several weeks too, and alongside a cold streak of five games, he has just 60 goals, but if he and his linemates stay healthy, 2024-25 may be the season where he solidifies himself as one of the all-time great goal scorers in the NHL.
