Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Rick Bowness to Step Away From the Team for Health Reasons

It's not a great time for an NHL coach to be away from his playoff-bound team, but some things in life are more important than your job. The Winnipeg Jets have announced that Rick Bowness will be taking some time off.

According to the announcement by the Jets, Bowness has undergone a "minor medical procedure" and will be out until he's feeling better.

The Jets remain in first place in the Central Division during what can only be described as a surprisingly good season. Winnipeg has 15 games left before going into the playoffs. Hopefully, Bowness will be feeling better before then, but there's no timetable for his return right now.
