BREAKING: Florida Makes Shocking Decision With Spencer Knight

The Florida Panthers made an unexpected move with Spencer Knight.

The young goalie, who came out of the NHL's Player Assistance Program and is expected to play this year, was sent to the AHL despite his one-way contract.

However, he bypassed waivers, and Florida will still pay a portion of his salary.

The Panthers will rely on Sergei Bobrovsky for the beginning of the season, and Anthony Stolarz will be his backup.

After a few games in the AHL, if he performs well, don't be surprised if Knight returns to the Panthers soon.
