Marc-Andre Fleury Trips Up and Embarrasses Connor Bedard in Their First NHL Faceoff

This summer has brought with it plenty of hype in the NHL, as generational prospect Connor Bedard has finally arrived, but now, he may have experienced his Welcome to the NHL moment.

After some impressive performances throughout the pre-season, Bedard got his first chance at the shootout, and of course his opponent would be one of the greatest goaltenders in NHL history.

What unfolded was a fun experience, with Bedard doing just a little too much to beat the veteran, with Marc-Andre Fleury coming out on top in this exchange.

For Bedard, an 18-year old looking to find his footing in the NHL, matchups like this will be great for him, but given all of the excitement around him, it's safe to say that Fleury loved the moment, even firing the puck back at Bedard's teammates after the fact.

One play obviously won't define Bedard in the NHL, but this is just another indicator that even though he's got all the talent in the world, it takes more than that to beat some of the best goaltenders in today's game.
