Per Rick Westhead, who is a reporter for TSN, the Edmonton Oilers are being sued by a Dallas Hotel for two unpaid bills earlier in the season.

The first issue, as reported by Westhead, is a result of the team allegedly bouncing a $28,000 check following a stay they had in December. The same hotel went on to mention that the team owes an additional $27,000 for a stay they had in March.

Tim Shipton, who is the Oilers Senior Vice President, says the team is working cooperatively with the Dallas hotel to get the issue solved.

“We have the same challenges as every business navigating through the global pandemic. We are working diligently through our business operations and attending to outstanding issues from the unexpected stoppage of last season.”

The first incident, which happened in December, would have come around December 16, which was the game day between the Stars and Oilers in which the Oilers won 2-1. The second incident would have occurred near the date of their March 3 game, which the Oilers won with the same 2-1 score.
