Rumors about Patrick Roy coming back to the NHL have been floating around for years now. After his brief stay in Colorado, he got back into the QMJHL to coach the Quebec Remparts, who are presently competing for the Memorial Cup.
After yet another successful season, Roy is once again in the midst of rumors sending him back to the NHL. Many teams are looking for a head coach, and everyone is looking for the best person possible.
The Rangers are once again looking for a new coach after they made the decision to fire Gerard Gallant.
According to a report published on Twitter, Patrick Roy checks all of the Rangers' needs:
"NYR wants that passion that Torts brought those years, someone who'll hold players accountable, someone who hates losing, someone who'll bring a new feel to the team. Roy fits all."
Roy is known to bring emotions to the game and always compete ferociously.
But after all these years away from the NHL, we can ask the question: does Roy really want to get back in the pros?
