The United States and Canada share a long history and a strong cultural bond. Hockey-wise, there also exists a deep rivalry at both the men's women's levels.
Even so, on a global level Americans and Canadians have stood in solidarity since day one. Running the British out of North America? Absolutely. World War I? Let's ride. World War II? Let's get those Nazi bastards. Simply, we've always had each other's backs.
That camaraderie was on full display ahead of Monday's tilt between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres. When Natalie Morris' microphone failed during her rendition of
The Star-Spangled Banner, that was light work for Toronto Maple Leafs fans.
When it comes to our favorite NHL teams, Americans and Canadians can butt heads with the best of them. Picture two rams going full-tilt, that's how it gets out there sometimes.
At the end of the day, our two countries have one another's back and won't let a broken microphone get in the way.
