The Washington Capitals announced on Friday morning that they've agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension worth $25 million ($5 million AAV) with forward
Dylan Strome.
Strome, 25, became an unrestricted free agent last summer after not being issued a qualifying offer by the Chicago Blackhawks. Early on in free agency, he inked a one-year deal at $3.5 million with the Capitals.
The 2015 third overall pick is having a pretty good season with the Capitals, recording 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists), 16 penalty minutes and is a minus-seven in 52 games.
