Coyotes loan 2021 ninth overall pick to Hockey Canada for World Juniors

One day after adding a pair of NHLers in Brandt Clarke and Shane Wright to their World Junior roster, Hockey Canada has announced that the Arizona Coyotes have loaned 2021 ninth overall pick Dylan Guenther to them for the tournament.

Guenther, 19, is currently in his first season in the National Hockey League with the Coyotes and has had a pretty good rookie campaign thus far. In 21 games, Guenther has 11 points (three goals, eight assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-five.

The Edmonton native will join up with Canada for their selection camp in Moncton, before they kick-off their pre-tournament schedule on December 19th against Switzerland.

Canada will begin their quest for back-to-back gold medals on Boxing Day against Czechia at 6:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. Atlantic time.
