At this point, even Rangers fans are growing sick of
Jacob Trouba. The Rangers' captain has developed a knack for making big hits (often with his elbow), and sometimes he lands them, sometimes he doesn't.
His particular brand of physicality can be described as 'all or nothing.' So when he misses his checks, he misses them
badly. He tried to throw a big hit on New Jersey Devils' captain
Nico Hischier - elbow and all - and absolutely humiliated himself in the process.

The thing with Trouba is: he doesn't make up for it with great hockey either. He often misses defensive assignments and is caught out of position. Take this tying goal surrendered to the Devils:
Trouba's lack of defensive coverage leaves Yegor Sharangovich wide open in the middle of the ice while he is stuck in no-man's land. The winger could have crept down to cover as well, but with three blue jerseys on the puck, what is Trouba hoping to accomplish?
The Rangers stormed out to an early 2-0 lead to the high-flying Devils, and it was gone before you knew it. The Blueshirts' captain had better shape it up...
