Kings part ways with assistant general manager Mike Futa
Per Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friendman, the L.A. Kings and assistant general manager Mike Futa are parting ways. The L.A. Kings released a statement on the matter shortly after.
“The L.A. Kings will not be renewing the expiring contract of Mike Futa. We appreciate his contributions to our organization and are thankful for his effort and dedication.”
Futa was named as the club's assistant general manager back in April of 2017. He has been a part of the Kings organization for nearly 15 years. Friedman noted that Futa, who's expertise is draft and amateur scouting, is now allowed to talk with other teams. As for the Kings, they still have director of amateur scouting Mark Yannetti to run their draft.
