According to his agent, Alexander Romanov is expected to be with the Montreal Canadiens come next season.

“Alexander is definitely coming to Montreal,” his agent said when asked where Romanov would play next season.

This would be a big add for the Canadiens if Romanov does indeed come over next season. The 20-year-old defenceman is one of their high-end prospects. He just finished playing in his second season with CSKA in the KHL, where he posted 7 assists in 43 games while also being a +21. He played in 43 games last season as well, posting one goal and three assists.

Canadiens fans got a chance to watch Romanov play in both the 2019 and 2020 IIHF World Junior Tournament. In 2019 he posted one goal and seven assists in seven games, while this year he put up one goal and five assists in seven games. The Canadiens selected the young defenceman in the second-round (38th) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
