While there's been a lot of talk regarding neutral sites lately for the return of the 2019-20 season, at least one report is saying the idea has been axed.

"The NHL's "neutral site" (i.e. non-NHL arena) plan for summer restart is dead. No North Dakota. No New Hampshire," ESPN's Greg Wyshynski posted to Twitter. "Plan never got out of the concept stages due to lack of accommodations, and challenges in staging and televising games."

"Latest push is for NHL to return to 2-4 of its arenas in areas where the COVID-19 outbreak has been managed and restrictions would allow it. Very much targeting completion of the regular season. No timetable. NHLPA needs to sign off on any of it," he continued.

Two arenas that have been mentioned already would be Rogers Place in Edmonton and Gila River Arena, home of the Arizona Coyotes.

While the NHL seems intent on completing the 2019-20 season in some fashion, even if it means just the playoffs, nothing has been set in stone yet. In addition, the options for getting it done seem to change day-by-day.
