Players with the New York Islanders have made a very generous donation to Northwell Health Foundation, which supports healthcare in New York. More than 3000 N95 mask have been delivered to the foundation, which will help front-line healthcare workers deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you're unfamiliar with the N95 masks, they look like this:

According to the Twitter account of the New York Islanders, the donation came straight from the players on the team who took it upon themselves to coordinate the initiative. As you can imagine, the organization was very grateful.

The huge demand for N95 masks has created shortages all over the globe. U.S. President Donald Trump recently ordered 3M, which manufactures the masks, to stop selling them to other countries such as Canada so more could be kept for healthcare workers there.
