According to Postmedia's Jim Matheson, former Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters might have a new coaching gig with Yekaterinburg Automobilist of the Kontintental Hockey League. However, nothing is confirmed at this time.

Matheson later noted that Peters might have been recommended for the job by Pavel Datsyuk, who spent the 2019-20 season with Yekaterinburg.

Peters and Datsyuk were together in Detroit from 2011 to 2014 while Peters was assistant coach of the Red Wings.

Peters coached in the NHL for eight seasons, splitting time between Detroit, the Carolina Hurricanes, and Calgary Flames. He was forced to resign from his position as Flames head coach on Nov. 29, following a handful of abuse allegations.
