In an interview with Alexei Shevchenko of Sport Express, Islanders prospect Anatoli Golyshev promised to be NHL-ready for next season.

Golyshev, 25, was selected by the Islanders in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. The diminutive winger (5'", 179 lbs) has spent the last few years playing for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the KHL. He told Shevchenko that he is currently looking for a house in the New York area, since he plans to be there next year. His contract runs through the end of the next season, but he has already made up his mind.

"I received a call from the Islanders," said Golyshev. "They weren't too impressed with my play at the start of the season, but then their evaluation changed." Golyshev finished the season with 11 goals and 14 assists in 38 games. He has not been able to match the output of his 2-15-16 pre-draft season, when he put up 25 goals and 19 assists in 56 games. His KHL total stand at 91 goals, 90 assists in 313 games.
