Following Thursday's cancelling of the winter and spring championships for Corona Virus prevention, the NCAA is planning to make an exception for their athletes.

The NCAA is planning to extend the eligibility of athletes on spring sports teams by one year to make up for the season lost to the new coronavirus.

This extension is for 14 college sports, including baseball and softball.

The decision still has to go in front of a council, but it is expected to pass.

The NCAA still needs to figure out logistics including scholarship limits and roster size.

The NCAA also informed schools Friday that they are now in a recruiting dead period that extends through April 15. Thus banning all on-campus visits for recruits and off-campus recruiting travel for coaches.
