The top junior hokey league in the United States, the USHL, has suspended play until further notice. The move is, of course, in response to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

In a statement, the USHL said the suspension starts immediately and includes all games, practices, workouts and meetings associated with the league. The decision was made unanimously by the USHL's board of governors. There is no set date for the league to restart. Officials will continue to monitor the situation to see when it is safe to do so.

The USHL is one of many leagues around the world to suspend activities as officials attempt to stop the spread of the virus. The USHL has 16 member teams located in the Midwestern United States, consisting of players who are 16–21 years of age. The USHL is strictly amateur, allowing former players to compete in NCAA college hockey.
