While Winnipeg forward Bryan Little hasn't played for months, we finally have official word from the team that his season is over. Little suffered a perforated ear drum after taking a puck to the head after a shot from teammate Nikolaj Ehlers in a game against the New Jersey Devils in early November.
Winnipeg's head coach Paul Maurice told media Saturday that Little has gone through a battery of tests and there have been some positive results. However, he's going to be shut down for the remainder of the season as he will have surgery to repair the ear drum. Recovery from that procedure is expected to take three months.
Little was cleared to participate in practice last month, but there was no timeline on his return to the lineup. The 32-year-old posted two goals and five points in seven games this season before his injury.

Little's best season came in 2013-14 when he recorded 64 points. He's been good for 40+ to 50+ points in pretty much every other full season he's taken part in. He's a former first-round draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers who came over the Winnipeg when the team was relocated to that city in 2011.
