Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba has been trending in the rumour mill of late, but the news on Dumba coming out of Minnesota on Wednesday is not relating to a trade, but rather a hefty fine, following an incident on Tuesday evening that saw Dumba slash Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves in the "nether-region".
Now, let's ignore the fact that Reaves is not the guy you want to take a shot like that on. Players should not be using their stick as a weapon to inflict damage in the first place, but if you are going to slash a player, you should definitely stick to the guy-code and stay away from the McNuggets.
The slash was a retaliatory act, following a nasty hit from Reaves on Dumba in the corner, behind the Minnesota net earlier on in the sequence, a hit that Dumba took exception to, as he felt that Reaves tried to get him up high. You can see the exchange for yourself below.

As a result of the reprehensible play, Dumba earned himself a $5,000 fine, the maximum allowable amount according to the current CBA.
If I'm Matt Dumba, I'm doing my best to keep an eye on Reaves during the next meeting between the Wild and the Golden Knights because retribution may be coming, likely in the form of a fight, which undoubtedly favors the self-proclaimed "lion in the jungle" Ryan Reaves.
