KHL team mocks woman who appeared on Russian TV with an anti-war sign

This just might be one of the most tone-deaf things I've ever seen a hockey team do. On Monday, a TV editor in Russia interrupted the news broadcast she was working on to hold up an anti-war sign. The sign read "No war, stop the war, don't believe the propaganda, they are lying to you here." She was immediately arrested, as seems to be the tradition in Russia.

Apparently the arrest of the woman wasn't enough, as KHL team HC Severstal mocked the woman on their Telegram account, editing the photo so it looks it reads "Razin is the best coach KHL", a nod to the team's head coach Andrey Razin.

The bravery of the woman who brought the sign on TV cannot be understated. She has literally risked her own life to make a statement that she felt was important to her and everyone else. Seeing a professional hockey club mock that and play it off as if it was no big deal is just incredibly low.

Severstal was eliminated from the KHL playoffs on Monday after a 2-1 loss to Dynamo Moscow in game seven of the first round.
