Thursday was a rare off night for New York Rangers goaltending Igor Shesterkin, as he was pulled after giving up four goals on 17 shots in what ended up being a 6-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Tonight's game aside, Shesterkin has been nothing short of incredible for the Rangers this season, as he entered Thursday's contest with a spectacular 1.93 goals against average along with a .942 save percentage. Despite his poor play against the Blues, his coach in Gerard Gallant chose to rip into his teammates rather than the Russian netminder.

"They should be embarrassed a little bit, the way (Shesterkin) plays for them all year,»"Gallant told reporters. "Then they come out tonight and play like that, after a game in Minnesota that we weren't too good in."

Gallant went on to say his team played soft in the contest, and said Shesterkin had no chance on nearly all of the goals he allowed. Expect the Rangers, who have been very good all season long, to come out with a much better effort on Saturday night in a game against the Dallas Stars.
