In recent weeks, plenty of discussion in the hockey world has focused on Russia after their invasion of Ukraine.

The decision by Russia has resulted in plenty of backlash, and not just from politicians but plenty of other areas, including hockey. The KHL, for example, has had two teams leave the league, one being Finland's Jokerit Helsinki, and the other being Dynamo Riga of Latvia.

Despite flack from much of the world, however, some are in support of Russia and Vladimir Putin, and that support was on display at a KHL game between Ak Bars and Avangard Thursday. During the game, a Z symbol, which has been adopted by Russia as its symbol for support of its invasion of Ukraine, was featured on the jumbotron, along with the words "for victory" and "for peace."

It isn't necessarily surprising that this is happening. it is still somewhat jarring, though. Especially the displaying of a symbol of war followed by the words "for peace."
