With the NHL Trade Deadline approaching on March 21, there are plenty of rumors flying around the leagueor so we thought.

According to TSN's Chris Johnston, there is some concerning news regarding the deadline, as there seems to be an extreme lack of activity.

"Quiet. Extremely quiet. Scary how quiet it is. No one wants to commit."

This seems to be an interesting report since it has seemed like there has not been a lack of rumors to this point, but maybe on the internal side of the league there is not much going on.

There have been a ton of star players rumored to be available including Jakob Chychrun, Jeff Petry, Claude Giroux, John Klingberg, Mark Giordano, Phil Kessel, J.T. Miller, and Marc-Andre Fleury. All of these names have been mainstays in the league over the past decade, and it may be hard for fans to see any of these players leave their respective teams.

One problem that NHL teams may be having is the salary cap. It is making teams likely not want to commit to players with bigger contracts, which will make for less exciting trades and signings. The NHL Trade Deadline is on March 21 at 3 p.m. ET.
