A team president in the Ontario Hockey League has been expelled following an investigation into alleged inapproriate racial comments directed at a player. Terry Chistensen of the Flint Firebirds had been suspended from his duties while an investigation took place.

Ontario Hockey League Commissioner David Branch today announced that Flint Firebirds' President of Hockey Operations Terry Christensen has been expelled from the League for conduct that is prejudicial to the welfare of the League. This comes as a result of remarks he made that violated the OHL Harassment & Abuse / Diversity Policy. His conduct violated the League's expectation of the appropriate conduct of a representative of an OHL Team and he has lost the privilege to participate in the League.

The investigation into Mr. Christensen began after an allegation was brought forward via the OHL player communications system. - OHL News Release

The OHL did not say exactly what the comment was or who it was directed at.

Meanwhile, Sportsnet's Jeff Marek is reporting that the OHL is embarking on another investigation, this time into the Niagara Ice Dog. Marek says the investigation deals with alleged offensive comments made in a group chat by individuals in senior positions with the team.
