Veteran blueliner placed on waivers by Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings announced on Monday that they had placed Danny DeKeyser on waivers.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, DeKeyser and Tampa Bay's Andrej Sustr were the two players placed on the wire.

DeKeyser has six assists on the season, averaging 18:33 in time on ice in 43 games. He is currently in the final season of a six-year, $5 million-AAV contract that he signed in 2016.
Detroit was at nine defenseman on the roster after recently claiming Olli Juolevi, and Jakob Vrana could also need to be activated.
The worst part of this whole situation is the fact that today is DeKeyser's birthday. Being put on waivers is a pretty terrible birthday present from a team he has spent so much time with.
