Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux is gaining interest from what seems to be all across the league as a trade candidate, and now two Original Six teams have entered the conversation.

According to Elliotte Friedman the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers appear to have kicked their tires on the 34-year-old forward.

Giroux is expected to waive his no-move clause in hopes of being traded to a contender before the trade deadline.

Friedman also reported that Colorado appears to be out of the race, as they may be looking elsewhere to improve their team.

Giroux has still been a solid contributor this season, putting up 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) in 52 games on an underperforming Flyers team at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. He also participated in the NHL All-Star game where he won MVP of the event.
