Unlike a couple of other Russians playing in the NHL, Ivan Provorov is not interested in talking about Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
"I'm not here to talk about politics. I'm here to talk about hockey," said Provorov Friday when asked his thoughts about what's going on right now.
Pressed to elaborate, Provorov made it very clear he won't be commenting on the situation.
"If you guys have any hockey questions, you can ask me that. I'm not here to discuss politics with you. My opinion is none of your guys' business," said Provorov.
Most Russian NHLers have not said anything at all on their home country's invasion of Ukraine. Alex Ovechkin has said "please, no more war", while Nikita Zadorov also asked for "no war" on his Instagram account.
Provorov, 25, is currently on pace for one of his worst seasons in the NHL since he started playing in the league in 2016-17. The blueliner has five goals and 19 points in 52 games.
