Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported earlier this afternoon that Vegas Golden Knights defenceman Ben Hutton is set to receive a contract extension today.
Not long after Friedman tweeted that, Bruce Garrioch of TSN said that Hutton's extension with the Golden Knights is for two years and worth $1.7 million. It will see him earn $800,000 in the first season and $900,000 in the second season.
Hutton, 28, was signed by the Golden Knights on October 28th. He became an unrestricted in July after spending the 2020-21 season with the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. About a week before the 2021-22 campaign began, Hutton signed a PTO with the Anaheim Ducks, but was released not long after and became a free agent once again.
In 35 games this season for the Golden Knights, the Brockville (Ontario) native has nine points (two goals, seven assists), sixteen penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
