According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Florida Panthers have placed defenceman Olli Juolevi on waivers.
Juolevi, 23, was originally selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Just before the 2021-22 season, the Canucks decided to move on from Juolevi, trading him to the Panthers in exchange for Juho Lammikko and Noah Juulsen.
In ten games this season for the Panthers, the Helsinki (Finland) native hasn't recorded any points, has two penalty minutes and an even rating. If he clears waivers on Sunday afternoon, he'll be assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, where he's already played three games this season.
In other related news, the Seattle Kraken have announced that Austin Czarnik has been put on the waiver wire to make room for Jaden Schwartz and Jared McCann coming off injured reserve.
The Detroit (Michigan) native played in six games for Seattle, tallying two assists and had an even rating.
